New Shoreline Permit Approval Process:
Each individual project that alters the shoreline, or that touches the water, will require the property owner to fill out a permit request at the Goose Lake Association office. Such projects as but not limited to, the installation of rip-rap, sea walls, boat docks, etc or any altering of the shoreline that touches or extends into any Goose Lake Association controlled waterways must follow these new Shoreline Work Permit Process rules. This includes the need to submit a Permit Request for doing any repair work that you are planning on existing docks, piers, seawalls, etc. Depending on the extent of the repair, the $25 Permit Fee may be waived.
This permit requires a $25.00 fee.
Upon project approval by the Shoreline Committee, permits will be issued and will be posted IN PLAIN VIEW at the affected lakefront property site prior to the onset of any construction. All contractors doing any work for a member must follow G.L.A. rules and have a current certificate of liability insurance on file at the Goose Lake office before any work can commence. Any member doing his/her own work is still required to obtain a permit and follow the Goose Lake Association rulings.
***************************************************************************** Lincoln Lake-Coal City Road Erosion Project Many of you have probably noticed open spaces along Coal City Road where bushes were removed. This fall we finished our erosion project in several areas along Coal City Road where the shoreline was badly eroding into the lake. If this erosion process was allowed to continue, it could undermine the road. Fortunately we had help from the Federal Mine Reclamation Department, Dave Allen (the Felix Township Road Commissioner), and the Lincoln Lake Estates Home Owners Association. Rip-rap rock was placed along the shoreline to help curb the erosion. Don't worry about the bushes. We all know how fast the Russian Olives grow--they will be back soon! FUNDS SPENT: $15,900.00 from the Federal Mine Reclamation Dept. 5,340.00 from the Goose Lake Association 1,160.00 from Lincoln Lake Estates And many hours of manpower and equipment from Felix Township
A big thank you to everyone who helped on this project!
Shoreline Committee Chairman, David Rezabek
